Chapter Challenge - April 1, 2012
We had 37 riders (16% of our roster) making the 129 mile trip to Lexington. They started out on a really chilly April Fool's morning. Two groups made the ride - one taking the "Slow Ride" scenic route and the other taking the fast interstate path. Everyone came together at the Le-Hi Travel Plaza in Lexington, and RHOG came away with 8th place!
Once again, Black Wolf HOG was the winner of the Chapter Challenge with 52% of their roster riding 190 miles.
2nd place Manassas, 3rd place Steel Horse, 4th place East Coast.
Fourteen of the 16 Virginia HOG chapters participated.
Many thanks to the Road Captains who made this ride possible, and to Ghost and Shooter for doing the prep ride.
Robert Payne says "WOW, Great ride to Chapter Challenge and on to Route 56 and lunch. Route 56 is Virgina's version of the Tail of the Dragon. Hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. Much thanks to Ghost for leading the slow ride amd the ride to lunch. And much thanks to Barry for leading the express ride. Also, much thanks to all the great supporting members who worked so hard to make it all work. Lets go again......Tomorrow? "
Carl Osgood posts "Anyone that didn't come missed a GREAT time!!! We have great people in our HOG chapter, I really enjoy getting to know more about them. The only problems I heard about was a blown tire on our directors new bike. He did get back safely though!!"
Rosella Hensley posts "Thanks to all that lead and planned the ride, beautiful mountain roads, some a little more twisted than others."
Terry McCollough says it was "A nice spring ride, 310 miles over the moutains and back..."

Charles Olin was kind enough to let this webmaster know............Once a year in the spring a rally point is chosen by the previous years winner. ALL the H.O.G. Chapters in Virginia are invited. The goal is to get as many of your chapters riders to sign in.... Based upon a ratio of percent of chapter members and the distance they had to travel, a winner is declared. "Do I need to ride my bike?" Heck no!! You can car pool ....the idea is to get as many members there as is possible.
