There’s two mileage contest options with Richmond HOG.
Ride your Harley to any two consecutive Chapter meetings between February and November, and have your odometer read.
The person who racked up the most miles for that month wins. This is known as the “Monthly Mileage Contest”. Or there is the big one, the “Annual Mileage Contest”.
Simply put, who in the chapter has ridden the most miles based on their odometer reading between February and November. And plaques are awarded at the Annual Christmas Party for the winning Female Rider and the Male Rider.
To get started, just ride your Harley to any chapter meeting starting with February and have your odometer physically read by the Mileage Coordinator, or actually any Richmond HOG Chapter officer can read your odometer. Then just ride again to the next meeting and have your odometer read again. The person who rode the most miles between consecutive monthly chapter meetings will be the Monthly Mileage Winner for that month.
The final monthly mileage reading for the year takes place at the November chapter meeting. The male and female riders with the highest accumulative mileage from their first odometer reading of the year to the last odometer reading will win the Annual Mileage Contest, to be awarded at the Christmas Party. Remember, this runs from February to November.
Odometer readings do NOT carry over from the previous year. If you can’t ride your Harley to a chapter meeting, contact the Mileage Coordinator, or the Director, to make alternate arrangements to have your odometer physically read before the meeting. Photos will not count. If your bike is in the service dept., the mileage recorded on the work order will count.
The 2012 Mileage Program Coordinator for Richmond HOG is Joyce Cannon. She will maintain the official 2012 mileage log.
